 Jean was probably born in 1658 to Simon Savard and Marie Hordouille.  He was reported as eight years old in the census of 1666, as nine years old in the census of 1667, and as twenty-six years old in the census of 1681.  He married Marguerite Tremblay, daughter of Pierre and of Anne Achon, on 14 April 1687 at L’Ange-Gardien.  The contract was notarized on 24 March by Jacob senior.  They had four children, two boys and two girls.  Jean married for a second time to Marie-Anne Sasseville, daughter of Pierre and of Marie Seigneur, on 22 November 1694 at Québec.  The contract was notarized five days earlier by Roger.  Jean and Marie-Anne had four children, three boys and a girl.  Jean Married for a third time to Catherine Galarneau, daughter of Jacques and of Jacqueline Heron, on 6 April 1703 at Charlesbourg.  The contract was notarized on 16 March by Chambalon.  They had seven children, three boys and four girls.  Catherine had been previously married to Jean Philippe with whom she had seven other children.  Jean died on 4 January 1715 at Hotel-Dieu of Québec.

Le quatrième d’avril mil six cent quatre vingt sept après la publication de trois bans de mariage faite au prône de la messe de paroisse Jean Savard fils de Simon Savard et de Marie Hardouil le père et mère, de la paroisse de Notre Dame de Lorette de cet duché d’une part, et Marguerite Tremblay fille de Pierre Tremblay et Anne Achon le père et mère de cette paroisse d’autre part et ne se son trouvé aucun empêchement légitime, Charles Amador Martin faisant rasalie les fonctions leur à donné la bénédiction nuptiale, les beau frère Abraham Fiset et Robert Jeanne ont signé et comme l’ordonnance les ayant déclaré signé.
